Watch Mercedes-Benz EQC all-electric SUV prototype make its tires squeal on Nürburgring track

The Mercedes-Benz EQC all-electric SUV is going to be the German automaker's first all-electric vehicle built to be electric from the ground up. It's going to launch its new all-electric EQ sub-brand next year and in the meantime, it's undergoing a thorough test program as we get a look at an EQC electric prototype making its tires squeal on the Nürburgring race track. Mercedes-Benz previously said that the EQC is equipped with a 70 kWh battery pack for a range of 'up to 500 kilometers' (310 miles). The range should be competitive with the several other all-electric luxury SUVs coming to market in the next few years. They have about 200 prototypes and pre-production EQC SUVs currently being tested ahead of the launch of the vehicle next year.

For the U.K., that meant PHEV variants of the C-Class S-Class , and GLE . Two E-Class hybrids will follow in four-cylinder diesel and gasoline versions. "Next year will also see the introduction of two C-Class PHEVs using both E-Class powertrains, with an A-Class PHEV using a 1.3-liter gas engine bringing up the rear. We'd expect the eventual GLC hybrid to share the E-Class and C-Class powertrains, although we won't get the diesel, of course.
